RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate all machinery and equipment, monitor instruments, record and control gas volumes, pressures and temperatures, to ensure that quality product is delivered to tankers in a safe and cost effective manner.
2. Monitor and record instrument readings of gas volumes, temperatures, flows and pressures
3. Conduct maintenance checks of the equipment by physical inspection whilst on shift to verify operational status and takes appropriate corrective action as required.
4. Install, calibrate and tests minor controls/instruments in accordance with technical manuals to maintain continuous plant operation.
5. Inspect safety devices in area assigned, verifies their placement, test their operational status to establish their hazard/accident detection and warning capability to prevent fires and accidents. Report any hazards detected or incidents immediately.
6. Review fire fighting checklist at the commencement of shift to ensure familiarity with procedures to facilitate timely and accurate emergency response activity.
7. Responsible for immediate reporting of faults and defects within his area and where necessary takes first line emergency action to contain the situation.
8. Record and log all required process conditions in his area, and note any deviation from normal.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University graduate in Engineering or Science. Or Technical Education.
- From 2 to 3 years of hands-on practical experience in gas/ petrochemical plant operation.
- Gas/ petrochemical plant operation.
- Knowledge of DCS and SIS system operation.
- Knowledge of large scale rotating equipment particularly gas turbines and compressors.
- Must have an understanding of PLC operation.
- Excellent command of English language
- Computer literate with an understanding of office applications.
