Machinery (rotating ) Specialist - Maintenance Department

The Machinery Specialist is responsible to perform the following duties:
1. Responsible for technical issues and maintenance related matters pertaining to a wide range of field equipment such as Turbo Generators, Turbo compressors, Emergency Diesel Generators, LNG loading arms, Air compressors ,Gas Compressors ,Pumps, Pressure Vessels , Pressure safety valves , Fire fighting Pumps according to the responsibilities assigned to him.
2. Develop and perform contingency plan to cope with failure of the Safety critical equipment.
3. Prepare permits to work and Job safety analysis in conjunction with concerned parties for Mechanical maintenance activities.
4. Co-ordinate with Company Divisions to support investigation of operational or business development opportunities / Standardisation / KPI’s etc.
5. Prepare procedures and maintenance manuals for all installed equipments. Review and update PM Program based on standards, manufacturer recommendations, and experienced problems.
6. Review and prepare the required spare parts. Setup the reorder point and reorder quantities in order to ensure high availability with minimum repair time. He is responsible to check spare parts inventory and reviewing stock levels based on actual consumption. He has to ensure the availability of insurance and critical parts.
7. Prepare technical specification and raising purchase request for new spare parts. Also he is responsible to make technical evaluations for all offers from bidders.
8. Active participation in the HAZOP Studies for all Mechanical Equipment related To plant changes.
9. Study repeated failure, chronic problems, and develop root cause analysis in conjunction with the technical service department.
10. Prepare scope of work to determine the required manpower and spare parts for turnaround shutdown activities.
11. Ensure that maintenance shop is fully manned and equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer / supplier regulation and company procedures.
12. Utilize the CMMS system to coordinate all work activities.
13. Participate in a standby / call out rota system and maintenance duty system and to be readily available during this period.
14. Convene appropriate operational meetings and submit reports as required on significant work in progress in conjunction with Electrical and Instrument Maintenance staff.
15. Monitor and evaluate on continuous basis the work load assignments to develop an optimum manning levels.
16. Establish and maintain a system to provide 24 hours instrument maintenance coverage on Operation owned areas.
17. Establish and supervise an effective, dedicated Technical Training Program for the subcontractors to optimize the equipment downtime due to maintenance activities.
18. Evaluate and identify that all work performed by contractor under area of supervision is executed in accordance with contractual requirements and company’s regulations and procedures.

1. Academic qualifications:
1.1. B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
1.2. Excellent command of English language and computer literate.

1.3. Experience:
1.4. Minimum 7 years of operating, commissioning and start-up experiences in oil and gas industry.
1.5. The Maintenance Engineer must have good troubleshooting skills For Mechanical equipment and all auxiliaries (hydraulic, Gas , water ,air) systems.
1.6. He has to be aware about hazardous area classification and code requirements for safe equipment installations. Experience with the use of international standards and codes
