Project Engineer ( Mechanical)

The Project Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to perform the following duties :

1. Shall be responsible for the entire project cycle from concept to testing and commissioning.
2. Preparation of work packs, budget estimates and schedule plan for executing the project.
3. Assist in reviewing front-end feasibility studies and concept designs.
4. Reviews projects mechanical discipline related documents in collaboration with Tech Services Machinery/Mechanical Engineers as appropriate and feed back comments to contractor or consultant.
5. Coordination with procurement for tender interviews and presentations, material ordering, follow-up and corrective actions as required.
6. Evaluates project progress reports in his/her area of expertise
7. Foster HSSE principles and culture among contractor’s employees, by Toolbox talks and daily interface with supervisors and labor.
8. Daily follow-up and monitoring of contractors activities related to SOW and installation activities to insure full adherence to ELNG requirements and policies.
9. Reviews contractor planning, resources allocation and tasks to allotted staff and advise any potential hindrances.
10. Actively participate in project risk management register
11. Evaluate and coordinate contractor’s required field changes with Tech services Mechanical/Machinery Engineers.
12. Participates in project review meetings when necessary to ensure that the project –in all phases- is technically correct

Qualifications & Experience:

• Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized university.
• General 8 years projects’ experience. Out of which, al least 5 years in Oil and gas or Petrochemicals industries.
• Strong knowledge of projects mechanical engineering and construction drawings and documents.
• Good knowledge and experience with material and equipment for cryogenic services.
• Familiar with mechanical calculations as well as related applicable industrial codes and standards.
• Capable of dealing with contractors and effectively solving problems.
• General knowledge of project management techniques including planning and cost control.
• Good communication skills and strong command of English both in written and verbal.
