Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist

Position Summary:
Through corporate social responsibility partnerships, engage private sector and civil society participation in expanding and supporting overall improvements in sustainable, quality healthcare services in specific underserved areas of Egypt.

Reporting:
This is a seconded position reporting to project management in Cairo and to the Director of Meridian Group International, Inc. in Washington DC.

Educational/ Language Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferably in Business, or Mass Communications and/or MBA would be an asset.
•Arabic (Egyptian) with excellent oral and written English

Supervisory Responsibilities:
•None

Previous Experience Required:
•A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the private sector negotiating agreements and closing business deals. Some development work experience would be an asset.
•Computer literate with internet search capabilities
•High interpersonal and communication skills with a large network of business relationships in the healthcare or outside the healthcare business
•Well developed one-on-one and group communication skills

Specific Duties:
•Plan and obtain participation with the private sector to orient them on CSR activities.
•Present health and healthcare as a priority area for the private sector to show social responsibility.
•Develop and negotiate win-win agreements to leverage cash and in-kind donations from the private sector that will contribute to quality healthcare services in specific underserved areas of Egypt; develop concept papers and memorandums of understandings. Work toward established goals and objectives.
•Manage the smooth follow up of the win-win agreements and contribute to the smooth implementation of said agreements within the Project.
•Plan and organize events to showcase the agreements and encourage others to emulate them.
•Solicit multi-party agreements where the private sector, NGO sector, and the public sector play complementary roles.
•Assist the staff of an important government agency (specifics upon request) to develop a Social Responsibility Working Group with the functions and skills required to develop and manage sustainable partnerships which engage commercial and civil society participation in expanding, supporting and sustaining overall improvements in quality healthcare services.
•Provide technical assistance for said CSR working group
•Provide regular updates on the ongoing CSR activities through periodical and special reports
